HILL & OUTBACK EXPERIENCE |
   |
| At
6:30am you will be collected from the hotel for a breakfast with a
difference. A short drive from Broken Hill will find us in a true
outback location where we will look for kangaroos and emus, etc. Breakfast
will be a real bushman’s treat with all the trimmings. This magnificent
meal will be in a remote setting to give you the opportunity to absorb
the sights and sounds of the outback. We return to Broken Hill late
morning to freshen up, followed by a light cafe style lunch. The afternoon
is spent in Broken Hill, visiting the Royal Flying Doctor Service,
as well as two of our most recognised art galleries (including an
aboriginal art gallery) and the Sculpture Symposium (with a glass
of Champagne). A La Carte Dinner will be served at JJ's restaurant
at the Legion Club. |

MENINDEE
LAKES & KINCHEGA NATIONAL PARK |
   |
Breakfast
in the hotel today. Heading off at 8am today we travel to the Menindee
Lakes and Kinchega National Park region I hour south of Broken Hill.
The Menindee Lakes is a natural lake system. When full after floods
it contains up to 5 times the capacity of Sydney Harbour. Since the
1960s when a water management program was put in place there is constant
water in the lakes which are fed by the Darling River. Now a haven
for bird and animal life, one of the largest populations of red kangaroos
live here. With a BBQ lunch along the banks of the river and ample
opportunity to experience the surrounding landscapes this wetlands
system will enchant you. Late in the afternoon we return to Broken
Hill. A chance to freshen up before dinner at MacGregor’s Café and
Restaurant. Your dinner venue is atop The Line of Lode, remnants of
the mining past of Broken Hill, once the wealthiest mining town in
Australia. Views over the city are a great back drop for you this
evening. A great way to finish off your day.

HILL – SILVERTON – SYDNEY |
 |
A
visit to Broken Hill is not complete without a chance to explore Silverton,
the Hollywood of the Outback. Numerous TV-commercials and movies such
as 'A Town Like Alice', 'Mad Max II' and many more have made Silverton
a special place. Visit the galleries of the local outback artists
and see the sweeping ‘Mundi Mundi’ Plains from where it is often possible
to see the curvature of the earth. Back to Broken Hill for transfer
to the airport for departure with the afternoon REX Airlines flight
to Sydney. Arrive Sydney late afternoon.
