During
your tour with us you'll enjoy all of the major attractions
in Broken Hill which include a comprehensive Broken
Hill city sights tour, the School of The Air, the Royal
Flying Doctor Service, Whites Mineral Art Gallery &
Mining Museum, the Miners Memorial, Pro Hart Gallery,
Photographic Recollections Exhibition and the International
Sculpture Symposium.
White
Cliffs Opal Field will bring home to you the remoteness
and isolation of the early Australian pioneers. Mining
still continues here but on a much smaller scale than
during the first 20 years after opals were discovered
in 1887.
Here in White Cliffs you will have the opportunity to
learn how this unique community lives in their underground
houses. We’ll go “fossicking” in the
'Old Field' where over 50,000 holes have been dug since
mining began, and of course visit a local opal show
room or two.
